Founding Engineer

Offcall is seeking a founding engineer to build our new digital health company aiming to uplift, empower, and improve the wellbeing of doctors in the U.S.

Our mission is to dramatically reduce burnout by improving the wellbeing of doctors. We will do this by providing a set of functional tools, alongside engaging content and a community network.

Our leadership team has spent a combined 25+ years working in healthcare, and our expertise spans healthcare, business, media, and product. We are based in San Francisco. Everyone on the founding team is passionate about building tools to help doctors deliver the best care to their patients.

As founding engineer, you will work directly with the founders to build our product from the ground up. We are seeking an experienced engineering leader who is passionate about improving the practice of medicine and building and scaling products that reach the 1 million doctors, and eventually the 19 million healthcare professionals, in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating critical technology and architecture choices and building our infrastructure from the ground up
  • Working across the stack to build, test, deploy and iterate on our product
  • Working collaboratively to create product strategy and roadmap

What We're Seeking

  • 10+ years of engineering experience (experience working in healthcare or with consumer technology companies a plus)
  • Experience building production-grade backends
  • Ability to both fly solo and to build and lead a team
  • Ability to move quickly while building incredible products
