Offcall is on a mission to improve the wealth and wellbeing of physicians. Everyone on our team works tirelessly toward this mission every day. In our Team Perspectives series, you’ll hear how different Offcall team members are meeting the company's mission and why they’re so passionate about their work.
This week, Founding Product Designer Mike DelGuidice discusses his work on the Product team. If you’re interested in learning more about Offcall and current job opportunities, check out our About page to learn more.
As the founding product designer at Offcall, I wear a lot of hats — which means I get to design just about everything that needs a creative touch. Whether it’s product design, building out our design system, conducting user interviews, or developing marketing materials, I’m involved start to finish. Currently, my focus is shaping our design process and making sure we’re turning user feedback into meaningful improvements that help make Offcall the best possible product for the physicians we’re supporting.
For me, it’s the opportunity to build something that genuinely improves people’s lives. The challenge of creating a product that has a real, tangible impact on physicians’ well-being is incredibly rewarding. I’ve always loved building things from the ground up, but what really excites me is being part of a team that’s not just passionate about creating something meaningful, but also committed to making it high-quality. That combination of purpose and craft is what I look forward to every day.
Here are my key design principles:
What excites me most is the potential for Offcall to actually reshape the healthcare system in meaningful ways. Fair compensation for physicians is crucial, but I also genuinely believe that many of the tools and products we’re building—and the ones still in our pipeline — will have an even broader impact. We can shift the dynamic of the industry, not just for physicians, but for everyone who is touched by the healthcare system. Making that kind of long-term change really inspires me.
It’s always the people who shape a company’s culture and make it a place you want to be. Everyone at Offcall is deeply passionate about what we’re building. This isn’t just another business — what we’re doing resonates on both a professional and personal level. That kind of energy and excitement is contagious. Working with people who truly care about the mission makes all the difference.
